The Power of Words

Words that you speak can be powerful. They carry energy that gives the breath of life. They can also carry the energy of destruction. I have shared many times on the power of words. Words can dictate how we relate to one another, how we express ourselves, and how we touch another soul. It is all our own choice.
Every word spoken (or in the case of the Internet typed) have our own spirit poured into them and can build up or tear down hopes, dreams, and fears.
There are words that focus on self and there are words that focus upon life. There are words that, over time hearing often enough, we begin to believe and accept as absolute truth. We believe them in our soul. It matters not if they are healing words or ones that wound us deeply. When we hear them often enough, they can become a truth within.
Recently, I had the opportunity to facilitate an online virtual experience with a hundred or so women. The soul blessing was not something that I spoke but rather words shared with me. I listened, I heard, and I shared in the words that were released. Words that were not the truth, yet, had become ingrained as truth for some. Words they were releasing, letting go, and saying no more.
There were some standing in disbelief and confusion as to how another could accept these words as truth.
For them, they were so devastating, they would never be accepted. They could feel the anguish, the pain, the fear, and the sorrow of the one who shared their truth. They listened in awe as these new words of love, support, encouragement, and hope began to take hold. They held their breath in anticipation as the strength and new found courage found in new words emerged. A few day's later, many still are struck by the conversation and the power of shared words.
We each have a choice of what our words will be. What words we speak to others and just as important, the words we speak to ourselves. Pause for a moment and reflect on the words you speak. Do they share appreciation? Appreciation for life. Appreciation for blessings and gifts of spirit. Do your actions and words match? Do you share your truth? Do you share your heart and soul? How would you feel if another spoke the words to you?
Words. They can be life altering.
