Soul Fragmentation - Soul Loss - Soul Retrieval

I received another question via email today. "What does it mean when someone tells me that I have soul fragmentation? How can my soul be fragmented? Can you fix it?"

Every person, regardless of who they are, will experience some sort of loss during their life time. Whether it is through a trauma, an illness, surgery, accident or some other severely jarring experience, when these occurrences happen, it is possible for a part of the soul's essence to be separated from the "whole" part of the soul. For most this happens without conscious knowledge. This portion that became fragmented from the whole is "parked" away from the energy body of the person.

This fragmentation or loss can accumulate over a person's life time. In the traditional world many times this is referred to as post traumatic syndrome. They are rooted in same cause. It is simply different terminology. When this fragmentation happens, the overall well being of a person becomes impaired. I have heard it described as something is missing, I just don't feel like myself anymore, I have un accounted for pain, or triggers send me "off".

It is usually when a person has tried nearly every other form of therapy or treatment that they turn to shamanic practices to ask questions. Soul retrieval actually dates back to ancient times. We read about it in the time of Isis and Osiris in the Egyptian texts. Osiris was literally cut up and scattered across the country by his brother. The story goes on to say that Isis called in all the powers in the Universe to come in and retrieve all the parts of her brother Osiris and reassemble them into a whole once more.

In soul retrieval, the purpose is to have the Divine Source with other spiritual guides recreate the same process as Isis did. Calling into the Universe to bring back the fragmentized pieces and make the soul essence of the person whole once more. Sounds farfetched? It is not as simple as making this declaration to the universe. There is work involved. Through the process the person reclaiming their soul essence gains the knowledge and understanding of what is necessary for them to shift in order for that portion of the soul to come back and interweave with the whole. This process is really a journey for the person to gain the wisdom to become healthy and whole physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It results in the person becoming in direct contact with the Divine and gives them the necessary tools to self heal themselves.

The process also looks at the voids that had been made during the time the fragmentation existed. These voids many times are filled with dense energies that need to be cleared and extracted. All this dense energy in these voids can (and often does) result in dis ease. An extraction or cleansing is when these dense energies are moved or transmuted into a clear, higher energy.

If the soul fragments were reclaimed without this process of clearing of the energy from the voids that had been left is not done, the person will go away feeling worse than they did before. It is only a band aid on a symptom rather than delving into root causes and healing. As with many of the shamanic practices, it is not always a pretty experience to go through. I tell most people that it will get worse before it gets better, but the end results are worth the hard work, the lack of ease, and the strength required to be put into the process.
