How to practice affirmations:

The benefits that affirmations can have in your life are based entirely on your individual desire. The extent of their power is up to you.

How do you practice affirmations? There are a number of techniques that can be used to practice applying affirmations into your daily life.

The first step is to create your affirmation. Establish in your mind the specific area that you most want to improve or what goal you are desiring the most to attain. When you are first beginning with affirmations, concentrate on one desired goal. Whether that goal is health related, financial, emotional, or relationships, it is important to have a central focus to work with. This will enable you to create the emotional and self discipline practices that are vital to success.

When first beginning it is suggested tat you set aside a specific time each day to work with your affirmation. Just as you have a set time to exercise or meditate, this is a habit forming process. The time needed is around ten minutes. This gives you enough time to really focus on the affirmation. I have found that setting ten minutes aside right before bed is beneficial. Remember one of the ways to work with affirmations is to daydream. When you work with your affirmations right before you go to sleep, the thoughts most recent in your subconscious will be your affirmation allowing you to continue the work at this level with the dream state. The thought process that you established just prior to sleep will continue to operate on a subconscious level during sleep.

There is an argument that the best time to work with affirmations is the first thing in the morning. When you awake refreshed you mind is more receptive to a positive thought pattern and better able to concentrate and focus on a new thought. This will also establish a positive mental attitude for the entire day.

What ever time of day works best for you, in order to achieve your goal, it is necessary to have self discipline to create the habit of working with your affirmation every day. This will ensure your desired reality is achieved.

There are so many varied area's to work affirmations in from self-esteem, love, creativity, career, health, prosperity and spiritual areas. The key is to ensure that you do not create an imbalance as you begin to apply these affirmations into your life. You want to have a balanced life. So work with a variety of affirmations once you become comfortable in the practice of applying them. Be sure to include a cross section in your practice of physical, mental, emotional, financial and spiritual realities that you desire. Look at the whole picture not just a piece of the puzzle.

In Part 3 we will look at turning your personal goals into your personal affirmations.

First thing in the morning is the time when I'm most receptive, and then last thing at night before I fall asleep.
